Sam Baron
Sam Baron (born 8 June 1988) is a screenwriter and director based in London. His short films and music videos have over 6 million hits online, and have been screened at film festivals internationally.〔(Official Website )〕 His screenplay ''The Science of Love and Laughter'' won him a Nicholl Fellowship from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences〔(Academy Reveals Nicholl Fellowship Winners )〕 and was featured on the Brit List.〔(2014 Brit List Announced )〕 == Internet videos == In March 2006, Baron co-wrote and starred in a UK response to the ''Saturday Night Live'' rap video "Lazy Sunday", which became successful on the internet. It received praise from ''Saturday Night Live'' writer Jorma Taccone and "Lazy Monday" creators Mark Feuerstein and Sam Friedlander, and a clip from the video was featured on CNN. Later that year, the duo performed the song live on the BBC show ''Let Me Entertain You''. In 2007, they were commissioned by MTV to create an awareness video about global warming for the MTV Switch campaign. The video was shown at Al Gore's Live Earth event, and screened on MTV worldwide. He continued making short films and viral videos for YouTube for several years, finding large-scale success again in 2011 with a video for the band Emily and The Woods, which has received over 4,000,000 hits. In recent years, he has shifted his focus from online releases to film festivals and other public screenings.
